Support the Suffolk Cares Pantry

As the Suffolk Cares Program celebrates its fifth anniversary, it seeks support from caring alumni and friends of Suffolk, like you.

Today, approximately 30% of students in four-year colleges experience food insecurity, and the Boston Greater Food Bank estimates that as high as 37% of students are food insecure in Massachusetts. At Suffolk, more than 300 students utilized the Suffolk Cares Pantry in fiscal year 2023, and this number has increased substantially in fiscal year 2024. Fifty percent of these students are first generation college students. The Greater Boston Food Bank has indicated that students are embarrassed to utilize their community services and prefer seeking resources from their own university communities. The Suffolk Cares Pantry treats all students with dignity and confidentiality, thereby reducing the stigma and misconceptions that can often be associated with food insecurity.
