In Minnie's Food Pantry (MFP) twelve years of service, their charity has provided over 14 million healthy meals, educational resources and the red-carpet treatment to every person that has walked through their doors. From single parents trying to feed their children, to business executives who have been laid off, the face of hunger is changing daily as they see clients coming from all walks of life. Typically MFP serves an average of 5,000 individuals per calendar month, they are now seeing a 39% increase in clientele. Aside from the increase in families needing assistance, volunteer groups are canceling in support of social distancing and many companies are no longer supporting offsite activities during times such as this to protect the health of their staff. Donations are dwindling as stores don’t have a surplus to provide as they did before. Their shelves are going bare. It is the immediate plan of MFP to remain open to further assist those who are struggling, but that can only occur as long as shelves remain full. With many things being uncertain, now more than ever, your donations are more important.
