The Aflac Childhood Cancer Foundation Inc. deeply values Child Life professionals and their dedication to children and the families of children being treated for pediatric cancer and pediatric blood disorders at hospitals throughout the United States.
This year, the Aflac Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc. will award 12 grants to Child Life programs throughout the United States that provide support to children with cancer and/or blood disorders and their siblings. Each program selected will receive $2,500.
Grant funding may benefit all pediatric patients at the hospital so long as cancer and/or blood disorders patients are also included. Funds may also be used for programs or activities led by child life professionals that are designed to help siblings of pediatric cancer and pediatric blood disorders patients.
To qualify for an Aflac Childhood Cancer Foundation grant, programs must meet the following requirements:
- Child Life program must be part of a healthcare organization in the United States that treats pediatric cancer and/or blood disorders patients.
- Funding must benefit wholly or in part children or siblings of children with pediatric cancer and/or blood disorders.
- Funding may be used to offset unexpected costs incurred due to COVID-19 response, if needed.
Deadline
Applications must be received by 5pm EST on July 31, 2022.
Recipients Announced
Grant recipients will be announced and notified during Childhood Cancer and Sickle Cell Awareness Month, September 2022.
