Hi I'm Margaret I am clean 7 months and 23 days clean from a 46 yr active addiction I was an IV user of meth dilaudid or anything I could get my hands on I had no self esteem I'm married to a wonderful loving man and I still didn't feel worthy of him God intervened and made rehab possible I learned so much in treatment I always thought I was weak because no matter what was happening good or bad I still got high we lost our oldest son 6-21-17 I didn't even deal with his death until this year on his death date my wonderful sponsor had us write letters to him and did a balloon release up until that time I didn't acknowledge that he was gone I would say to myself "He's in North Carolina and can't call me it was driving me insane me him and my husband were best friends I was devastated also while we were in treatment me and my husband Verlin had a one month separation God showed me just exactly how strong I was I continued on with my treatment and praised God and just gave it all to Him I stayed clean I was devastated but clean before treatment if that had happened I would be dead now from an overdose by the grace of God I made it through and He showed us we were meant to be together see it is possible to get help but my best advice I have is DON'T START DRINKING OR TAKING DRUGS it might be fun and cool at first but if you have an addictive personality you are hooked at the first drink or pill if you are already in the madness (and that's EXACTLY what it is) please reach out before the day comes that you can't I've lost family and friends to addiction and I would love to see the percentage of overdoses and deaths from alcohol and drugs go down. I love all of y'all and I'm here if you need me I can help you get in treatment and will try to keep you from picking up that one more time because that one more time just might be your last time DONT DO IT lets talk
