Dan Amsler Daniel “Dan” H. Amsler, Parkton, MD, passed away on July 16, 2021 (37 days shy of his 81st birthday). Born in Clarksburg, WV, he was the cherished son of the late Carleton and Beatrice (Petitigirard) Amsler and the youngest of his late siblings Patricia McCormick, Sonny, Nancy Bezrutch, Claude, and Polly Curkendall. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Hamilton, devoted son Tom Brown (Kasey) and daughter Tammy Hodge (Greg), loving nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was treasured Papi of Levi, Chesney, Max, Hayden and Violet (Gracie). Dan proudly served in the Air Force, had a successful career in law enforcement and, in retirement, fulfilled his passion of farm management. In addition, he was a lifelong hunter and fisherman. Dan did not like being fussed over and much preferred giving than receiving. As his last act of kindness and generosity, Dan donated his remains for medical research. Dan will be honored at a celebration of life to be held later. Rip Kirby Please donate in the name of Lawrence Rip Kirby, so that a cure and/or treatments to prolong life for sufferers of this terrible disease can be found. Lawrence “Rip” Kirby of Rutland, Vermont passed away Saturday, January 4th, 2020 at age 59, surrounded by those he held dearest. Rip was born on October 21, 1960 in Watertown, NY to Lawrence and Yolanda Kirby, and spent most of his childhood in Chazy, NY. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Clarkson University in 1984, and worked at Central Hudson Gas and Electric in Poughkeepsie, NY until he moved to Rutland, VT in 1988. There, he worked as an electrical engineer for VELCO until 2001, and then CVPS/GMP until his retirement in 2017, during which time he earned his Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure. He then worked as the electrical engineer for the State of Vermont Department of Public Service until his passing. Rip was a captivating and engaging presence. In his free time, he enjoyed playing scrabble and doing crossword puzzles, cooking chili for charity, and writing when a topic moved him. He collected guns and loved classic cars; he prided himself on his ability to recognize the make, model, and year of almost any classic car, and loved to chew the fat with a fellow owner at various regional car shows. He was a wealth of knowledge and had an unmatched sense of humor; he enjoyed nothing more than getting a room full of people laughing. He was a generous, gentle, loving man who will be missed dearly by many. Manuela La Grenade Please donate in the name of Manuela La Grenade, so that a cure and/or treatments to prolong life for sufferers of this terrible disease can be found. Manuela Blanco Rivas was born to Jesus Blanco and Elvira Rivas on September 24, 1939 in Oleiros-Jubin a suburb of A Coruña, Spain, during the Spanish civil war. Her family lived off the land and farm animals. At a very young age and together with her three siblings she learned to be resourceful and a hard worker. It was the time when WWII was about to get serious in Europe. As a young lady she immigrated to England. There, she met her husband Alvin in 1966 during his tour of duty with the USAF. Manuela and Alvin were married in Spain on June 4, 1967 and soon traveled back to Alvin’s home country of Venezuela. She became a mother of two boys Jose and Jaime. In December of 1974, the four of them came to the US when Alvin attended school under the GI bill. In 1976, while living in Norman, Oklahoma Manuela accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior under the leadership of a missionary lady named Wilma Mann. Until her passing, Wilma and Manuela remained close friends. After Alvin’s graduation in 1977 from the University of Oklahoma the family traveled back to Venezuela. There, her third son Joel was born. The entire family came back to the US in 1984 and after a brief stay in Norman, settled in the Dallas, Texas area. Manuela dedicated her life with emphasis on raising her three sons. From 1986 to 2008 she operated a children’s home child care. Pre pandemic, Manuela and Alvin were long-time attendees of Trinity Bible Church of Richardson, Texas and for many years were actively involved in the Spanish speaking bible study ministry offered by TBC. She went home to be with the Lord, on Monday October 17, 2022. In memory of Ronald Law On December 4, 2020 we lost Ronnie. A loving husband, selfless father, and doting grandfather. He went into the hospital on November 21, 2020 with what had been diagnosed as pneumonia. While there, it was determined that he was at the end stage of Pulmonary Fibrosis. He came home under hospice care on November 29, 2020 and passed away peacefully with family, on December 4, 2020. We chose this foundation because they help those diagnosed with PF (Pulmonary Fibrosis) find care, emotional support groups, and raise awareness. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a lung disease that occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly. As Pulmonary Fibrosis worsens, you become progressively more short of breath. The lung damage cause by PF is permanent. Pulmonary Fibrosis has 100% mortality rate without a lung transplant and 80% of patients die within 5 years of a diagnosis.
