Do you have any idea what pulmonary fibrosis is?? Most people don’t, but it is a terrible disease that took the strongest man I have ever known. I miss my dad so very much everyday. Robert E. Conradi, 1943-2009Bob Conradi died from Pulmonary Fibrosis within four years of his diagnosis. At that time, there was little that could be done to relieve his suffering except to increase his oxygen levels and administer prednisone. Linda Hopper On October 23rd 2016 I lost my mother to Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was a remarkable woman who faced this disease with strength and grace. Carlos Santiago III Carlos 'Los' Santiago III was our beloved son. He was a wonderful brother, great friend, amazing son, and one of the best people we have ever known. His amazing smile had the power to light up any room and make everyone in it feel happier and smile as well. He was always willing and never hesitated to help anyone in need.Even through his toughest times battling IPF, when he was in so much he could barely walk, his always positive attitude and outlook on life never wavered. He cheered us up instead of us helping him. He always encouraged us to live our lives and not worry about him. He was always sending silly pictures on Instagram or links to funny stories he found while surfing the net, all to spread joy which we think was his mission in life. In that mission, even though his life was cut much too short, he succeeded in spectacular fashion.Los loved family, friends, and his Pitbull Dutchess, who recently joined him in heaven after a prolonged illness of her own. Even though he was a big guy, babies found him irresistible. They treated him like the big teddy bear he was. Los had the rare ability to make anyone around him feel at ease and want to tell him all of their problems. Maybe it was his constant positive outlook on life. He never let anything or anyone keep him down for long. He was truly a blessing to us all. We miss that smile everyday.
