Breathe Easy - for Joyce! Joyce (mama) was always a fighter - but in 2021 she had to begin the biggest fight of her life when she was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis! This disease has NO cure! It is a condition in which the lungs become scarred until they harden and eventually stop working! Her lungs were breathing at 18% four months prior to her passing. We all put on our battle suits and went to war against this terminal illness - giving her anything and everything she needed daily JUST SO SHE COULD breathe. She struggled daily and thanked God for every breath she was able to get, and always stayed positive. She fought hard until her sweet body couldn't do it anymore. On October 7th, 2023, she took her last breath with her children, grandchildren, sisters, nephews and caregivers by her side. It was a bittersweet but an absolute beautiful moment with her and we watched her cross that bridge to heaven and BREATHE AGAIN! My husband, Paul F. Bauccio Jr, was diagnosed with IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis). IPF is a lung disease with no cure - the lungs slowly dry out leaving the patient winded and needing additional oxygen to sustain them. However, his strong will and love for life and family allowed him to fight this disease without a cure all the way to 11/30/23, the day he passed away peacefully after a long battle with IPF.
