In Memory of David Miller I realize this is an expensive time of year, but even a $5 donation is a step toward finding a cure and treatment for this fatal disease, a fast-moving killer that robs us of our most basic need -- to breath air. What you may not know about Pulmonary Fibrosis: The average life expectancy is 3-5 years. The only hope qualifying patients are offered is a lung transplant, the least successful of all transplants. Despite the fact that 40,000+ people are diagnosed annually in the U.S. alone, as many as those who die annually of breast cancer, only 3% of the health budget is earmarked for research. It costs nothing to let your representative know you want more research funding. Don't wait until someone you love is affected. IPF is not a life-style disease, it is not cancer, and it affects more than just people. Thoroughbred horses and West Highland Terriers are susceptible to it as well. For many years, Pulmonary Fibrosis was misdiagnosed as lung cancer, but we now know it is more likely to be an auto immune disease with a genetic link, but there's so much we still don't know! December 3 is Giving Tuesday. I can't think of a better gift or way of honoring David this Christmas than to show your support in his name with a modest donation. If not for Dave, do it for the puppies. Thank you! All proceeds go towards: • Finding effective treatments and a cure for pulmonary fibrosis• Advocating for the pulmonary fibrosis community • Promoting disease awareness • Providing a compassionate environment for patients and their families Please donate and together we can help those living with pulmonary fibrosis and the families of those we have lost.
