Please join the first graduating class of Bishop Lynch High School in fundraising for the 55 Days of Giving for 55 Years. On May 16th, 1966, 103 students formed the first class to graduate. BL had Sister Mary Norbert, O.P. as Principal of the Girls Division and the Rev. John E. O'Connell, O.P. as Principal of the Boys Division. Last year the class of 1966 raised $7,655 with 13 donors. This year our goal is to have 21 donors.

Please join the class of 1967 in fundraising for the Fund for BL. The class of 1967 was the first class of seniors to complete four years at Bishop Lynch High School. This year the total enrollment at BL rose to 770. On November 11, 1966, BL had its first Homecoming game against the Rangers which ended in a victory.Last year the class of 1967 raised $41,274 with ten donors. This year our goal is to have 27 donors.

Please join the class of 1968 in fundraising for 55 Days of Giving for 55 Years!In 1968 BL had over 20 student organizations. This year was also when a BL sports team took home their first state title, with the Friar Golf team winning the state title. On June 20th BL graduated 153 students.Last year the class of 1968 had 8 donors. Our goal for this year is to have 23 donors.

Please join the class of 1969 in fundraising for the 55 Days of Giving for 55 Years!In 1969 the cross country team became the first BL team to win two consecutive district championships. This year was also the debut of our first Brigade line. Sister Norbert finished her term as principal of the girl’s division at BL.Last year the class of 1969 had 11 donors. Class of 1970

In 1970 prom was held in the Regency Room at the Adolphus Hotel. The Black Friars performed three plays this year, including "Caesar and Cleopatra," "Little Mary Sunshine," and "Oliver." The Spring Festival had activities including giveaways and a dunk tank. Last year the class of 1970 raised $14,040 through 13 donors. This year our goal for the class of 1970 is to reach 27 donors.

In 1971 BL had many student activities such as the talent show, the car smash, and the bonfire. The football team won the district II aaa champs. The junior varsity and freshmen teams won district champs as well. The cross country team won the state tcil champs and had a 16 meet winning streak. Last year the class of 1971 had 31 donors. this year our goal for the class of 1971 is to reach 26 donors.

1972 was a year of many first for Bishop Lynch including a trip to Mexico and a Community Awareness Day. The junior varsity and freshman football teams both won district champs. The cross country team won the District, TCIL, State, and UIL state championships. The class of 1973 got to experience the rare occasion of snow on BL's campus. Since it was the tenth anniversary of BL the school threw a fundraising weekend. It included a "fifties day" at school followed by a fifties themed dance. This was a part of a three night Rockathon. This year there was also the Latin Banquet on the Ides of March and a Sadie Hawkins dance. Last year the class of 1973 had 12 donors. this year our goal for the class of 1982 is to reach 21 donors.

The Black Friars put on the plays "Charley's Aunt" and "My Fair Lady." BL also celebrated a Spanish Banquet, a Latin Banquet, and Western Day.The Future Female Business Leaders of America had seven members qualify for the State Competition at the San Antonio convention. Last year the class of 1974 raised $17,065 through 9 donors. this year our goal for the class of 1974 is to reach 20 donors.

Mr. and Miss BLHS were awarded to Mike Bielamowicz and Melanie Driscoll. The Bishop Lynch Bus was given the nickname “The Bomb” and girl’s basketball won the state championship. Natalie Boyne won Homecoming Queen, Tom Yoxall won Sadie Hawkins King, and “Anything Goes” was performed. Christopher Plumlee was voted outstanding senior of the year by his peers. “It’s not all black and white” was a great way to explain the class of 1987. They were more than just a high school class, they are a family. Steve Jankowiak was able to throw pie into Tom Kelly’s face and John Frazier made his freshman save his parking spot. Mr. and Miss BLHS was awarded to Pam Sellers and Terry Murphy and the seniors beat the faculty in intramural basketball. The 25th anniversary of Bishop Lynch, 1989 proved to be another great year as it closed out the 80s. “Hello Dolly” was performed and field day was a big success, especially for Claudia Webb as she figured out what it felt like to get hit in the face with a wet sponge. Fashion was also big in ’89, baggy suits, cuffed pants, and just as Pam Schneider and Katie Paulison about their stonewash jeans look. Last year the class of 1989 raised $12,540 with 15 donors. This year our goal for the class of 1989 is to reach 30 donors.

As the first class of the 1990’s, the senior class was all about the “big picture”. Sarah Patak was voted as homecoming queen and the rain didn’t stop the senior trip to the Renaissance Fair from being a great time. Kristi Larsen, K.B. Class of 1991 was all about “A Time for…” Whether it was time for Nikki Johnson and Meg Chamberlain to pose for a picture together, a time for Jessica Everett and Amy Crow making time to go on a walk during senior retreat, or a time to listen to David Brown deliver his speech at graduation, the class of 1991 made time for each other and that is why it is such a special class. The Class of 1992 was a year of building blocks. Not only did the senior class create a solid foundation for the next four years, but it was also the year the new track, new computer lab, new library furniture, and new landscaping came to BL. Seniors went to the Renaissance Festival for their senior trip and Gretchen Tripp was crowned the 28th Homecoming Queen in the fall of 1994. “Annie” was a hit for all audiences and the senior girls beat the juniors 14-7 in the annual powder puff game.
