Dear Women’s Basketball Supporter: Gallaudet University, located in the heart of Washington, D.C., is the world’s only university with programs and services specifically designed for deaf and hard of hearing students. As Gallaudet’s budget distribution for athletics remains stagnant, keeping up with the rising cost of travel and necessary equipment is challenging. On behalf of all involved in the women’s basketball program, we ask you for your support for this upcoming 2019-2020 season. Our everyday goal is to be able to inspire the Deaf community with the Gallaudet spirit and the value that our great women’s team offers. The last several years, with thanks to your support - spiritual, financial or otherwise, our women’s team posted a respectable winning season while earning second place in our post-season conference tournament. We had several honors and award winners this year. With our returning veterans and incoming freshmen, we anticipate another successful season! Family & Friends of the Gallaudet Men's Basketball team, Please help donate and support our Men's Basketball. We usually seek for donations to help improve the student-athlete experience, offset the cost for equipment and travel. But this summer, we have an exciting opportunity for our hard working student-athletes to travel out of the country and share their experience with others in Costa Rica. We will be traveling to Costa Rica on Aug 14 and return on Aug 22. We will share our skills with Deaf children in Costa Rica by giving them a free basketball clinic and we will also volunteer with the Special Olympics. In addition we will play 3 games with teams from Costa Rica. We are working hard to fundraise with Chipotle dinners and car washes to name some ways we are fundraising for the trip. This trip is allowable by the NCAA once every 4 years which is commonly done elsewhere but never ever before at Gallaudet. Your support whether small or big, one time or monthly, will be a big help in achieving our goals which is to be the best we can be everyday! Each donation is tax deductible.
