One day during my Graphic Design class at Bishop Blanchet, I received an email. It was talking about the Shirts Across America 2020 trip to help build houses in New Orleans. Around that time I had been thinking about how I had wanted to go back to New Orleans because I really loved the culture and the feel of the city. I realized that this was the perfect opportunity, so not knowing anything or anyone, I turned in an application and got my acceptance email. I am so glad I have the opportunity to do this. I am the only Blanchet freshman going, and I think it will be a time to meet some upperclassmen and get more in touch with what happened in New Orleans and what we can do to help fix it. I am so excited to not only work with SAA to help build homes for families, but to also learn about their culture and experience it firsthand.
