I love what our United Way is doing to help the youngest members in our community grow up to be great citizens! From the moment a child is born, their little brains are working overtime to learn everything possible. sparks! offers parents tips and ideas for maximizing those learning moments. When a child gets to school, reading is critical. That's why we recruit volunteers for Read to Success, a program that matches third graders with caring adults.To reach my goal, all I need is 33 people to give $15. Will you be one of them? (of course, if you want to give more...say like $52, an average of $1 per week, I won't complain!)

I've joined Team Blue because I believe every kid deserves to have an equal chance in life, and sometimes things happen that stack the odds against them. Partner Agencies in Team Blue focus on evening out the odds, and providing support, services and programs that help give the support kids need to live happier, healthier, and more satisfying, productive lives. It's little steps you and I can take now to keep these critical programs going at a time when our world needs strong youth. Team Red is fundraising to support a healthy and socially connected community! I feel honored to be fundraising for Great Rivers United Way because they contribute to 7 different counties in our local region. As someone who has worked with individuals, families and youth struggling through mental health, trauma, and overall wellness for the past 8 years, I have had the ability to personally witness the amazing impact of the work Great Rivers United Way can do for OUR local community. I'm inviting my friends and family to support me in fundraising for this campaign. Your small donation can make a HUGE impact in the lives of our local community!! The strategies under this objective include improving access to prevention and intervention programming for mental health, and services that focus on physical well being, as well as improving connections for at-risk community members to community resources. Some of the indicators of success for this objective include decreasing suicide in the Great Rivers region and increasing youth resilience. Will you join me in LIVING UNITED?

I'm participating in this fundraiser because I believe in GRUW's mission to unite people and resources to improve lives and strengthen communities. I picked Team YELLOW because 24% of Coulee Region residents live paycheck to paycheck, and another 12% fall below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). That means that more than 1/3 of our neighbors and friends are unable to get ahead, financially. This underlying issue makes success in GRUW's other focus areas next to impossible. I want to raise $500 to help local people stabilize their household economic situations so they can experience thriving lives. I hope you'll join me in making a gift!
