In October I will be participating in the Swim A Mile / Move A Mile for Women with Cancer, and I hope you'll make a contribution in support! This is a fantastic annual fundraiser that benefits the work of the Women's Cancer Resource Center. Since 1986, WCRC has provided programs and a network of supportive services for women with cancer in the Bay Area. All of WCRC's services are provided 100% free of charge to clients -- and are 100% funded by charitable giving. The need for WCRC's services has never been greater. The threat of COVID-19 is particularly dangerous for women going through cancer treatment who have weakened immune systems. And the economic collapse and job/insurance loss has made things exponentially more difficult for WCRC's clients. You can donate here or send a check with my name in the memo to: The Women's Cancer Resource Center2908 Ellsworth StBerkeley, CA 94705Thanks in advance for your generous donation. It will directly support more than 2,500 people over the next year!

Dear Family, Friends and Neighbors, Yes, it’s that time of the year again for me to raise funds for women with cancer in the Bay Area by participating in the annual Swim-A-Mile/Move A Mile on behalf of WCRC (Women's Cancer Resource Center). Although progress is being made, the war against cancer has yet to be won. I have been training all summer so I can swim a mile at the beautiful Mills College pool on Oct. 2 at 12:00. Not every senior can do this but I am confident that I will make it through once again. I will be participating in this event to honor my mother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and many friends, all of whom passed from cancer, as well as for all of the women of WCRC who are currently fighting their own personal battles with cancer.WCRC's services are provided 100% free of charge – and they are 100% funded by charitable giving. Thousands of women from all backgrounds participate in WCRC’s programs to help bolster their quality of life through cancer treatment and this pandemic. We who are currently free from COVID-19 and cancer should be grateful for dodging two bullets, but others are not so lucky.IT IS REALLY EASY TO DONATE so please, give just $10, or of course more, to help these under-served women who are still fighting their battles against cancer. They can only do it with support from warm-hearted and caring people like you. You can donate here: text SWIM152 to 71777, or mail a check with my name in the memo to:Women's Cancer Resource Center2908 Ellsworth St.Berkeley, CA 94705I miss seeing you all due to covid, but we'll make it through this together and I can't wait for WCRC to receive the charitable kindness of your support. Stay well!Fondly and with much gratitude,Iris (Hudis)
Thanks for coming to my page! I'm swimming (and walking) to raise funds for the Women's Cancer Resources Center, which supports women with cancer and their families. My goal is to raise $500 and I hope you'll support me and this great cause! Love,Melinda I'm swimming as part of the WCRC's Board of Directors' team. They have a message below: Thanks for checking out our WCRC Board of Directors' team page! As a social justice organization, we are proud to lead WCRC's work supporting women with cancer and their families from all backgrounds, but specifically advancing equity in services for low-income and under-served individuals. Please join forces with us in this time of unprecedented need when people with cancer are facing the challenges of cancer and the Covid-19 pandemic. Hello dear friends and family! In early October I will be participating in the Swim A Mile / Move A Mile for Women with Cancer, and I hope you'll make a contribution in support! I know what it's like to have incredible support for anything that cancer throws my way, from hats to food to rides to conversations that go deep, but not every cancer patient has such support. This is a fantastic annual fundraiser that benefits the work of the Women's Cancer Resource Center. Since 1986, WCRC has provided programs and a network of supportive services for women with cancer in the Bay Area, but especially for low-income persons, people of color, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. This includes supports such as transportation to treatments, translation during medical appointments and counseling, among others. All of WCRC's services are provided 100% free of charge -- and are 100% funded by charitable giving. This event raises one third of WCRC's budget and I hope you'll consider supporting our team's efforts. You can donate here or send a check with my name in the memo to: The Women's Cancer Resource Center2908 Ellsworth StBerkeley, CA 94705Thank you again in advance for your generous donation, and for your support and encouragement during my own journey to fight cancer. Our fundraising will directly support more than 2,500 people over the next year! All my love, Bernadette

In early October I will be participating in the Swim A Mile / Move A Mile for Berkeley's Women with Cancer, and I hope you'll make a contribution in support! As you may know, I have been swimming for 7 years in another fundraising swim, Swim Across America. This year I will be doing both because I am honoring the work of a fabulous woman I know who is swimming this event during treatment. I know what that is like and I want to support her. So, I'm going to share the wealth this year between these two great events. This is a fantastic annual fundraiser that benefits the work of the Women's Cancer Resource Center. Hello, I will be participating in the Swim A Mile for Women with Cancer as a proud event committee member again this year. My 2.5 miles of kayaking last year was super fun and thank you for all your support! This year, I pick standup paddleboard for 2.5 miles as my Swim A Mile/Move A Mile activity. I hope you'll support me by making a contribution :). This is a fantastic annual fundraiser that benefits the work of the Women's Cancer Resource Center. Since 1986, WCRC has provided programs and a network of supportive services for women with cancer in the Oakland/Berkeley areas and other bay area cities.
