As a senior in high school who has been involved in the BBYO community for 4 years, I can proudly say nothing has left a bigger impact on me than BBYO. From chapter sisterhood events, to regional conventions, to international summer programs, I have been able to be a part of BBYO on every level and see first hand the power it has to transform someones life. As I am reflecting on organizations that made an impact on my life, I attribute the start of my personal Jewish Journey to BBYO. It showed me how I could be Jewish in any way I want, without feeling "othered" (even with a thick accent). As a scared young 9th grader I showed up in a new country, and I knew from my first event, BBYO was home for me. From chapter Kallah to overnights to Beau Sweethearts to Conventions to International Experiences I was a beneficiary of numerous scholarships and of course, so much love! For this Giving Tuesday, I am asking you to make a donation so that teens in Central Region West (Bay Area BBYO) can keep feeling that love and community.
