I joined the Board of Trustees of YES about 6 months ago and am passionate about changing the stigma of mental health in our community, talking about mental health is GOOD thing. YES was an organization I reached out to during our crisis two years ago and while we didn’t end up working with them, they are one of the few services in the area that provides DBT counseling, the program we went through. AND they offer services regardless of someone’s ability to pay. Who's YES? YES provide mental health counseling, substance use with co-occurring disorder counseling and treatment, early childhood behavioral health services, psychiatric services, school-based services, and education and prevention programs for children and youth, ages birth to 22, and their families in East King County. Hey y'all. Tis' the season for donations ... As you may know, community mental health has taken a hit this year due to the pandemic. My position is funded through the Best Starts for Kids levy (vote yes in November) however, that's just one position at YES. The rest of our work is funded differently. To help close the gap, this year, YES has a goal of $800K at their virtual event. They are over halfway there. My goal is small as I know many folks are living tighter this year. What we do Youth Eastside Services (YES) is the leading behavioral health services provider in East King County for children and youth, ages birth to 22, and their families.
