I'm taking part in The Goat Games 2021— will you help me grab the gold? Hello wonderful animal people! Between August 14 to August 21, I'll be mooooo-ving to raise money for rescued farmed animals, and you can support my training by helping me reach my goal now. When I'm not working as a licensed veterinary technician in a busy veterinary hospital, running Wildwood Farm Sanctuary is my other full time job! Working in the field of large animal veterinary medicine for 26 years, I was able to see that there was a great need in our area of Western Oregon for a safe, peaceful, refuge for abused and neglected farm animals to land when needed, and a nature preserve to protect our fast disappearing native plants and wildlife in this area. I founded Wildwood Farm Sanctuary & Preserve in 2012 on my family farm where 4 generations of farmers have lived, and myself spent countless summers as a child. Between the days of August 14th and August 20th for my 52nd birthday, I've committed to hike the woodland trail system at Wildwood every day for 1 hour for the Goat Games to raise funds for a much needed medical transportation van for the animals here at Wildwood. You can find out more about The Goat Games and become a champion for animals by making a donation here: https://igfn.us/vf/goatgames Thanks for being part of my dream team! Shauna Sherick

Let's Do It Again! Bigger and Better! Last year, you helped me take home the gold in the 2020 Goat Games. I walked 20 miles for Catskill Animal Sanctuary and together we exceeded my goal of $2500. This year, I'm pledging to walk 30 miles and I've doubled my goal to $5000! To meet this goal, I'm pledging to walk 4.5 MILES PER DAY in this ridiculous heat. I'll bake and sweat to help the 300 animals who call Catskill Animal Sanctuary home. I'm happy to do my part, but I need your help! If you'd rather not deal with the credit card form, you can Venmo your donation to me directly (ID: MichaelVenzor) and I'll transfer the funds to the sanctuary. I hope you'll be able to contribute to this effort and help me win The Goat Games again in 2021!! For the past 20 years, Catskill Animal Sanctuary has been a refuge for thousands of rescued animals. Your donation will help CAS further it's mission of love and life! Please donate today! Goat Games FAQ This is where it all began...the 2020 Goat Games!

Team Barn Sanctuary! Help Team Barn Sanctuary take home the gold as an athletic competitor and raise money OR you can carry the torch as a donor. No matter which way YOU "play," the animals know you're a winner! Be sure to spread the word to your friends and family so they can get in on the fun! Please join us by supporting Team Barn Sanctuary for the 2021 Goat Games! Our fabulous Team Captain is Lola the GOAT! Members of our team are moving and shaking in any way they can to help us meet our team goal. Not only will this help Lola receive continued care to improve her mobility, it will also help the other rescued residents that call Barn Sanctuary home, like KJ, Hugo, Charlie and Emmy. All of the residents that call Barn Sanctuary home are incredibly unique and special. Team Captain Lola is friendly, playful and most of all — she doesn’t give up. Sweet Lola suffered from severe frostbite as a baby and lost the back half of her rear legs. Without Barn Sanctuary stepping in to rescue her, Lola would not have survived. Despite her rough start to life, Lola has the strongest spirit and she doesn’t let anything get in her way! After surgery, Lola was using a mobility cart to help get her strong. Today, she is rocking her own custom prosthetics like an all star and playing with our other differently-abled goat residents! Your support is essential for our Goat Games Team! Learn more about our Goat Teammates by watching this video! All donations will be used to provide continued therapy and care for Lola and our other residents with special physical needs. Just like Lola, nothing can stop us from reaching our goal! We got this Team Barn Sanctuary! Barn Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating farmed animals who have been abused and neglected. We show farmed animals in a new light, highlighting their individuality by sharing their unique stories and educating the public about the treatment of animals raised for human consumption. We operate on all levels from a position of kindness, mutual respect, and belonging, welcoming everyone to participate in our mission to spread compassion for farmed animals everywhere. Don't forget to download and print our team bib here -- wear it proudly as you walk, hike, bike, run, swim, etc. and take lots of photos/video to post on social media! #thegoatgames2021 Contact: Sarah Chouinard, Programs Manager, sarah@barnsanctuary.org

Liza and Team Little Bear! Help Team Little Bear and me take home the gold! Team Little Bear picked this handsome boy as our Goat Games 2021 mascot because he is the leader of his goat family. Even though he’s the smallest of the goats (pygmy), Shrek definitely has the largest personality. If you’ve had the chance to meet him, you know he’s the first to greet any visitors and he demands attention! Attention being endless rubs and kisses! We're grateful to our supporters and volunteers who selflessly help Little Bear Sanctuary every day. Everyone’s efforts have helped us become a rescue powerhouse. Let’s keep that going with this amazing opportunity! I am riding my mountain bike up 10,000 vertical feet during the week of August 14th-21st to help raise money for this important fundraiser. Where I live, that’s about 75-80 miles of climbing and descending mountains over that week. I love to ride my bike! It’s so excited to challenge myself both to raise this much money for the sweet animals at Little Bear and to complete this tough goal! Please join me on this weeklong adventure to help Shrek and his entire sanctuary family be safer during the storm months of the Florida summer and help us BRING HOME THE GOLD! Little Bear Sanctuary's commitment to saving animals in need is apparent in every facet of what we do. Harnessing life experiences, creativity, and desire to provide a better world for farm animals, we live each day caring for hundreds of previously abused or slaughter-bound animals. To date, Little Bear Sanctuary has rescued over 170 farm animals, each one facing an incredibly bleak future if we hadn’t intervened. While a lot has changed over the past few years, Little Bear Sanctuary's mission has remained unwavering: to provide a permanent home for abandoned or disregarded farm animals. The sanctuary is open to all animals in need, affording farm animals an opportunity to live out their lives in peace. As Little Bear Sanctuary continues to grow, it's imperative that we further develop and expand the property, community outreach avenues, and animal grounds to handle the intake. The funds raised with this fundraiser will be used specifically to build a hurricane resistant barn structure. Plans include a pole barn surrounded by industrial metal shipping containers. This give us both a large main interior space with the ability to use the exterior containers as "mini barns" for our 115 pigs and smaller animals. Similar to this photo: (Picture used for reference only) Little Bear Sanctuary's team strive daily to provide a cruelty-free environment and safe community haven for animals in need and receiving financial help to further the development of the sanctuary is essential. Your support allows us to continue creating a better world for farm animals. Love and gratitude from me and all of us at Little Bear Sanctuary.

Team Catskill! Will you help me support an organization that leads with love for the animals it rescues, advocates for the end of animal exploitation, and champions vegan living by meeting people wherever they are on their journey? Blossom and I are showing our support by hiking 25 miles in Canfield Meadows before the close of The Goat Games on August 21. I joined the board of Catskill Animal Sanctuary, because I love, support, and live their mission every day. We work to ignite social change to end the exploitation of animals for commercial purposes. We help people see that in all the ways that matter nonhuman animals are just like us and just as deserving of our ethical consideration as any human animal. We champion vegan living for the animals, for your health, and for the planet. Will you join Blossom and me in supporting Catskill Animal Sanctuary? Hi everyone! I will be creating something each day from August 14th to the 21st to help raise money for the Refuge during the Goat Games! There will be lots of sewing, painting, and crafting, and everyone who donates will have a chance to take home their favorite creation. The Refuge is an incredible place whose mission is dear to my heart. It is a sanctuary for both the animals who live there as well as those who visit. It’d mean a lot to me if folks could contribute as they’re able and share with others! Day 1: Weaving done on an origami heart. A collaborative piece with my partner, Joe, who did the origami. Day 2: Doodling helps with my anxiety so here are some stress doodles. Day 3: Little watercolors with some of my favorite song lyrics on them. I made my top two into fridge magnets. Inspired by music by Rebecca Sugar (Steven Universe), Mal Blum, and Apes of the State. Day 4: Felt leaf necklace made from felt rescued from the dumpster. Doubles as a pouch for storing very tiny things. Team Piedmont! Help Team Piedmont take home the gold as an athletic competitor and raise money OR you can carry the torch as a donor. No matter which way YOU "play," the animals know you're a winner! Be sure to spread the word to your friends and family so they can get in on the fun! Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge provides lifelong care to rescued farm animals, educates people about the realities of animal agriculture, and promotes veganism by offering knowledge, support, and community. Founded in 2012, the Refuge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in central North Carolina. We are thrilled to participate in the 2021 Goat Games as we are currently raising funds to expand our sanctuary! Earlier this year, we were presented with the exciting opportunity to purchase an adjacent lot that has more than doubled our size, from 20 to 45 acres! This expansion will allow us to rescue even more animals in need--goats, but also cows, pigs, and more. We are currently home to over 120 rescued residents and we can’t wait to see that number continue to grow as we make progress on our new space! Your generous donation will help us take full advantage of our new acreage, which includes beautiful forests where cows and pigs will roam, a large pond where rescued animals will cool off and take a dip, historic barns with exciting potential, and several streams and critical wetland areas supporting native wildlife. We have the land secured, but we need your help to transform it into a haven for rescued animals. Thank you so much for supporting this project and the lifesaving work of the Refuge! Little Bear Sanctuary

Team Little Bear! Help Team Little Bear take home the gold as an athletic competitor and raise money OR you can carry the torch as a donor. No matter which way YOU "play," the animals know you're a winner! Be sure to spread the word to your friends and family so they can get in on the fun! We picked this handsome boy as our Goat Games 2021 mascot because he is the leader of his goat family. Even though he’s the smallest of the goats (pygmy), Shrek definitely has the largest personality. If you’ve had the chance to meet him, you know he’s the first to greet any visitors and he demands attention! Attention being endless rubs and kisses. LOL We're grateful to our supporters and volunteers who selflessly help Little Bear Sanctuary every day. Your efforts have helped us become a rescue powerhouse. Let’s keep that going with this amazing opportunity! If you can run, walk, jog, or swim you can join us for the fun either with friends, family, or on your own in your backyard or take to the streets - this is fun way to get outside and have fun while helping raise money for this important fundraiser. Please join us on this weeklong adventure to help Shrek and his entire sanctuary family be safer during the storm months of the summer and help us BRING HOME THE GOLD! Love and gratitude from all of us at Little Bear Sanctuary. Our cows, sheep, pigs and goats will be allowed to live out their lives with the highest level of care, and will truly be able to “find zen living as someone, not something.” We offer a variety of outreach programs that promote mindfulness and compassionate living in the hopes of inspiring change in the way society views and treats farmed animals. We are on a mission to end animal cruelty against farm animals in the PNW. We primarily work with local animal control to rescue animals coming from cruelty and abuse cases. These animals are typically former cock-fighting roosters and pigs. Through our successful adoption program we are able to save hundreds of animals every year. Hi friends! I wanted to let you know that I am part of Team Heartwood (of course!) in this year's Goat Games - an event to help raise funds and awareness for farmed animals. I will be walking 10 miles between two of Seattle's longest established vegan restaurants! Saturday, August 14, 2021, I will be starting at Wayward Vegan Cafe at 10:30 am and ending at Georgetown Liquor Company. The walk should take around 3 - 4 hours. I really appreciate your support! Every dollar I raise will go directly to the animals. If you'd like to join me in the walk, or your own event, please sign up to join Team Heartwood! PS don't feel like you have to be vegan to support cruelty against farmed animals! On behalf of the animals and myself, thank you. ___________________________________ Heartwood Haven primarily works with local animal control to rescue animals coming from cruelty and abuse cases. Team Pasado's! Help Team Pasado's take home the gold and raise money for our critical animal health and welfare programs. From August 14th to August 21st, I’ll be running 25 minutes a day to raise money towards our goal of $25,000. (I am NOT a runner)! Pasado's Safe Haven offers a 360-degree approach to ensuring respect for every animal. Our mission is to end animal cruelty and create a more compassionate world. The comprehensive nature of our work is unique. We not only care for animals who have been victims of cruelty, we also are trying influence the social systems that impact animal lives. We want not only to improve the response to crimes against animals, but also prevent cruelty before it starts. We are the only animal sanctuary in the Pacific Northwest that rescues and rehabilitates all types of animals – dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, donkeys, alpacas and more. We give them as much time as they need to heal both physically and emotionally, so that they can be adopted to loving families and live their lives in peace. This type of care is lengthy and expensive – the average cost of care for a dog or cat at our sanctuary is thousands of dollars per animal. It's even more for larger, grazing animals. We could not do what we do without the unwavering support of our donors. We also depend on volunteers. Opportunities include helping with farm chores, Dog Towne, Kitty City, enrichment, spay/neuter clinics, food banks, office work, events, our youth programs, etc. You can join the fun by donating OR registering as part of our team! I'm taking part in The Goat Games 2021 to help raise money for Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge! This sanctuary means a lot to me, and I volunteer there a few times a month to help feed and care for the many chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, sheep and goats they care for! They're looking to expand and soon give cows a happy home, and I can't wait to be a part of that growth! IF YOUR GOALS DON'T SCARE YOU, THEY'RE NOT BIG ENOUGH! This being said, I'm going to get a little aggressive with my fundraising and exercise goal for this challenge. At first I was going to raise $500 and move 100 miles within the week, but then I decided I could challenge myself further. So, since I'm currently training for my first half-ironman in October (70.3 miles total: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run), and my long term goal is to run a full ironman someday (double those distances), I decided I'm going to do swim/bike/run a total of 140 miles this week, the distance of a full Ironman!
