Marco is a Belgian Malinois/Shephard Mix. He worked in Baghdad, Iraq as an explosive contracting working dog. His duties consisted of working sat the US Embassy and the outer checkpoint in the green zone in Baghdad. His favorite toys included a variety of assorted Kongs and balls, and his favorite treats were pretty much anything! On his day off, he liked to play ball and take walks around the Embassy where he was a charming casanova. Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field. Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement.
