Al Dente was a sweet, happy, three legged boy who brought an endless amount of joy to everyone he met. Heather and Neal found Al Dente at Bark in the Park 2019. We could not resist his smile and the instant connection we made. Throughout the last three years we made so many memories with Al Dente and he truly left a mark on our hearts that will always be there. On April 16, 2022, Al Dente’s earthside journey came to an end, as his health condition had declined to a point where he was in a lot of pain and his quality of life was very minimal. We know in our hearts that Al Dente is up in doggo heaven, has his fourth leg back, and is now our guardian angel. Join us on Saturday, May 21, 202211am-3pm at Lock 3 in Akron Guests and their four legged friends will enjoy: One-mile Rescue Walk | Food Trucks | Beer Garden | Over 80 Local Vendors | Mobile Adoption Center with Adoptable Animals | Blessing of the Animals | Demonstrations | Live Entertainment | Activities | Raffles | Contests | and much more! Admission to Bark in the Park is $5. Kids 12 & under and dogs are FREE. Register as a “Rescue Walker” for $30 (fee includes admission, event t-shirt, and bandana). ABOUT THE RESCUE WALK: The main event at Bark in the Park, our Rescue Walk, steps off at 12PM on Main Street! Register as a Rescue Walker for $30. Take your walk to the next level and become a Rescue Walk Fundraiser to earn rewards as you raise support from friends and family for the lifesaving veterinary care provided to the 2,500 animals rescued by HSSC each year! Register by May 11th to guarantee t-shirt size. Day of registration will be available, but availability of rewards will be limited. RESCUE WALKERS: Select ‘Register to Walk’ above, complete the form and select ‘Confirm Amount’ at the end. Your registration of $30 includes Bark in the Park admission, t-shirt, and dog bandana to be picked up the day of the event. You can raise money as an individual or multiply your impact by creating a Fundraising Team with family, friends, or co-workers.
