My name is Mazor Ner Tamid, or Mazzie for short! You may have seen me around Indraloka, hanging out with my best friend, Chandra. I wasn't sure that I could join the Goat Games, but with his encouragement, I decided to sign up! You see, my back leg doesn't work too well. When I was little, I wasn't looked after very well, but I was rescued and brought to Indraloka with a few other friends. However, something hurt my spine really bad, and I wasn't able to walk on one of my back legs. The nice people at the sanctuary though, they never gave up on me! They got me a wheelchair and helped me learn how to walk again! My back leg still doesn't work well, but I've learned to get around just fine with only three legs! I didn't know what kind of activity I could do for the Goat Games since I have trouble walking sometimes, but walking IS the perfect activity for me! I wanted to join to help encourage everyone else that, even if you can't do physical activities like bike riding or running, you can still be a Goat Games athlete! So, that's what I'm doing! I hope I can inspire someone who didn't think they could join to sign up to do an activity that's perfect for them! I have a goal to raise $400 for the Goat Games, and I know I can do it! His mischievous personality keeps us all on our toes but he loves hugs and snuggles from visitors. I'm joining the Goat Games today in memory of Duncan. Duncan perhaps one of the kindest souls who ever walked this earth, crossed over in late 2021. Everyday since then, I have strived to cultivate Duncan's level of centeredness and kindness. Duncan also taught me another important lesson. When he was young, he was fit and remained very active, seemingly experiencing deep joy and gratitude as he took long walks with his brother, swam in his wallow, and napped in the sun. My Goat Games activity is emulating Duncan by staying active and enjoying every minute! Between now and the end of the Goat Games, I will walk 100 miles and I'm hoping to raise $1,500. From July 31 to August 22 I will be attempting to complete the Camino de Santiago’s Del Norte route across northern Spain over 18 days. I will be pushing for 30 miles or more a day. My fundraising goal mirrors the total number of miles I expect to do over then entire journey! For every dollar donated I will do a mile and every donation will come with a message from me somewhere along the way. Pickle is an itty bitty goat with a gigantic spirit who came to IFS with rear limb paresis when she was just a few days old -- she was small enough to be mistaken for a kitten! Since welcoming Pickle in January 2021, she has made incredible progress. You'd never even know she had mobility difficulties when she was a baby! She overcame all odds and now has full use of all of her legs. Nowadays, Pickle is a happy, curious, and energetic little soul. She always has important business to attend to. If she pauses to give you a few moments of her time, you’re very fortunate—baby girl has stuff to do and places to be! She’s the most perfect Pickle in the world. IFS is Iowa's original vegan sanctuary for farmed animals. We're strategically located in the epicenter of modern animal agriculture, helping farmed animals where it is needed the most! Hello family and Friends: I plan to help Wildwood (which is also my place of employment!) by pushing myself out of complacency and game mastering a number of hours of Dungeons and Dragons! Henceforth my pledge is to run a half-hour of gameplay for every $50 that are donated to my Goat Games athlete page! I have a goal of $1000 which means the potential for a full 10 hours of goofy roleplaying and desperately needed experience building behind the game master screen (most likely split up over the weekend)! If you know me, you probably know that I volunteer at Wildwood, an animal sanctuary near my home. Wildwood has been such an amazing place to volunteer at because all of the animals are given such love and outstanding care. The grounds are absolutely stunning and visiting each week is always something I look forward to. All of the animals were rescued from the farming industry in one way or another - some were saved from being slaughtered for meat, others were saved from being tortured for eggs, and others were saved from being exploited for their wool. I have never met such happy and sweet animals as the ones at Wildwood. Even though some animals have only been at Wildwood for less than a year, they already have understood that they are safe and cared for and will approach you for treats or pets. I was devastated a few weeks ago when I heard the news that Wildwood would be closing down. However, due to the outpouring of love and support from the community, Wildwood has announced that they will be able to relocate the farm to a more viable property instead of having to close down! This means that all of the animals will get to stay together and live the rest of their lives with their friends they have become so close to. Now, Wildwood needs our help! We are about 1/4 of the way to affording a new property but we need to fundraise the rest in order to make this dream come true.
