The Familial Dysautonomia Foundation
Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 3:00 pm

(please arrive at 2:45 pm as the class will start promptly at 3:00 pm)

Flywheel Sports NoHo
51 Astor Place
New York, NY 10003

My 27 year-old brother Josh is affected by a disease called Familial Dysautonomia (FD), a rare genetic neurological disorder that affects the sensory and autonomic nervous systems, causing life-threatening medical complications from birth.

We ask you to participate by riding, sponsoring a rider, or just making a donation by clicking the "I want to donate" button above.

The class will be taught by my and Josh's cousin Brian Levine!

The ticket cost is $65 to reserve a bike (your donation includes bike, shoes and water).

Can't make it that day?  You can still support the Ride.  Sponsor an individual rider, or make a general donation to the event.

All proceeds will support the Familial Dysautonomia Foundation.

After party details: The After Party will be at Eliza's Local at 2 St. Marks Place. The bar is right across the street from Flywheel and we have a reserved space. Many thanks to Steve Kietz for sponsoring some light food and drinks to start!

About the FD Foundation
The Familial Dysautonomia Foundation enhances quality of life for those affected by familial dysautonomia ("FD") by funding medical care, scientific research, social services and public education.

FD is a devastating and rare genetic disorder that impacts nearly every major bodily function and causes severe physical, emotional and social problems.  Living with FD is a daily challenge for those affected as well as their families.  While improvements in treatment and research have increased life expectancy, FD remains a life threatening disease with no cure.

Their ultimate vision is a world without FD.  Today, the Foundation provides crucial funding to Dysautonomia Center at NYU, the world's largest FD treatment program. This unique facility provides medical care for people with FD, focused on addressing the distressing symptoms and degenerative progression of the disease, with a goal of helping those with FD live the best life possible. The Center also includes a clinical research laboratory where researchers are battling new frontiers on blindness, kidney failure, balance and genetic therapies.
