The American Modeling Teachers Association is seeking to support training for 24 aspiring workshop leaders. These leaders will be preparing to lead Modeling Workshops around the nation, providing excellent professional development and community support for hundreds of STEM teachers.
The AMTA promotes an award winning and research-validated approach to teaching science called Modeling Instruction, as a best practice for K-20 STEM teachers. Modeling trained teachers guide their students to build useful, flexible conceptual tools and practices for solving real problems. Modeling engages students as practitioners and organizes courses with coherent frameworks and storylines around a small number of scientific models that form the content core. Over the past 25 years nearly 10,000 teachers worldwide have become “Modelers” effecting hundreds of thousands of their students!
