Help support your local sister! The women experiencing poverty and homelessness here in Spokane deserve dignity and respect, and Mardi Bras exists to give our community the opportunity to participate in collecting items that help women keep their dignity.
Just throw a party asking for donations of money, underwear, deodorant, bras, bus passes, reading glasses, socks, razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, pads, and tampons (in-kind items listed in order of need), and it'll all go to help our neighbors at Transitions' Women's Hearth and Volunteers of America's Hope House.
Hope House is an overnight emergency shelter for women (the night shift) and Women's Hearth is a daytime drop-in center for women (the day shift). Both are low-barrier and both work hard to get women housed and stabilized.
Women's Hearth and Hope House are also really good at sharing, so should we get more donations than we can keep up with or store, you better believe we'll be giving some to other homeless service organizations, low-income schools, etc. So your reach goes even further!
