USC Council of Keck Hospitals is Making a Difference
The USC Council of Keck Hospitals is a support group dedicated to fundraising, awareness, and volunteer efforts that promote the health and welfare of the hospital communities of Keck Medicine of USC, including: Keck Hospital of USC, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital.
The USC Council of Keck Hospitals is currently raising funds to support the Keck Medicine of USC’s award-winning Care for the Caregiver program. The purpose of the Care for the Caregiver program is to take care of our frontline healthcare heroes as we all work together to tackle the challenging COVID-19 pandemic. The Care for the Caregiver program provides funds for childcare assistance, tutoring services for children learning in virtual environments, mental health counseling support, onsite wellness programs, hotel stays for caregivers who need to quarantine or recover from shifts before returning home to families, and comfort care items that relieve stress and promote relaxation.
Across Keck Medicine of USC, we have purchased needed equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), reconfigured hospital spaces, and implemented safety protocols to test over 42,960 individuals for COVID-19 and treat over 395 COVID-19 patients. Now more than ever, caring for our frontline healthcare workers is critically important so that these caregivers can continue to provide exceptional care to our patient community.
