Changing the Face of Addiction Virtual Walk

Join us virtually to kick off the event with a live stream of speakers and activities. Walk in your own neighborhood anytime with your friends and family. Show support for your team and walk together in small groups. Share your experience and post a photo and tag our page @CFPCNJ hashtag #walktosavelives.

On August 1st, virtual walkers and runners are welcome to walk or run in their own neighborhood at a time and distance convenient for them. Even with social distancing, you will be able to help Center for Prevention and Counseling provide its clients with health, hope for recovery and more!

Recovery is real for people with substance use disorders and our whole community benefits when we make recovery more accessible and attainable. Center for Prevention and Counseling provides a wide variety of programs and supports for people to recover. Our sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, cousins, loved ones and friends who thrive in recovery then become the foundation for others to find hope, healing and a pathway forward.

Sussex County Recovery Community - Join our team

We represent a group of people dedicated to helping people and families in recovery by raising awareness, working toward solutions and promoting recovery. Some of us are in recovery from addiction, some of us are family members in recovery, some of us are allies of recovery and many of us have lost loved ones to addiction. This walk was started in memory of two young men that passed away, and one hundred percent of your donation goes directly to The Center for Prevention & Counseling to help people that cannot afford services.

Why we Walk

Changing the Face of Addiction Virtual Walk. Walk anytime and anywhere throughout the month of August!

This walk was founded by two Sussex County families, whose sons Eric and George lost their fight with addiction. Since its founding, the walk has grown into a community wide event that allows people to remember loved ones, celebrate recovery and provide hope for the future.

Changing the Face of Addiction Buttons and Bracelets

This year, we will be providing buttons and bracelets to registered walk participants while supplies last. Because of COVID-19, we are unable to provide t-shirts and customized team buttons as in years past. In place of these items, we are distributing unique “Changing the Face of Addiction” buttons and bracelets available for you to pick up at the Center for Prevention and Counseling’s main office. Please give Laura a call at 908-747-1149 to arrange for a pick up time. Thank you!

*All donations are 100% tax deductible. The Center for Prevention and Counseling is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency.
