Campbell University's psychology department is asking for support to establish a fund that will enable Campbell University students to attend the Carolinas Psychology Conference for free and provide compensation for future guest speakers of the conference.
The Carolinas Psychology Conference (CPC), one of the longest running undergraduate psychology conferences in the nation, was founded by Dr. Slater Newman (NCSU), Dr. Lyn Aubrecht (Meredith College) and Dr. Jack Huber (Meredith College). People from all over the southeastern U.S. attend the conference.
The purpose of this conference is:
- to provide undergraduates in psychology with the opportunity to present their research in front of their peers and faculty in a professional yet friendly setting
- to encourage students to present their original research and learn more about research in psychology
Attending this conference is an exceptional opportunity that encourages our students to engage in undergraduate research. Our students who present at this conference are more competitive for graduate school and more likely to be accepted to the program of their choice.
We hope alumni and friends will support our campaign to ensure students can attend CPC at no cost to them and continue to host a variety of exceptional keynote speakers, further supporting Campbell's sponsorship of this transformative educational experience.
