Danielle has been the President/CEO of United Way of Dubuque Tri-States for nearly 6 years and is taking ‘other duties as assigned' to a whole new level, which is hard since she has also rappelled off a perfectly good building for this organization already! Her last dance performance was in the ’80s to Salt ‘N Pepa’s “Schoop” and even that wasn’t good! However, like her hair at that performance, Danielle believes in going BIG! She has spent over 25 years working in the nonprofit sector and is driven by her passion to work together to improve our community.

Danielle loves a good challenge—most often it’s addressing poverty and not tackling the tango, but she is a flexible leader too! She has two adult daughters who are worried she will embarrass them; amazing family and friends who worry she will break an ankle (or two); and a great team of staff and United Way volunteers who are all ready to help cheer her on, raising money to invest in local programming impacting poverty.

You may be asking why she is doing this?

Danielle shared, “Too many households in our community must make difficult financial choices every single day. Can I get groceries for the kids or purchase my meds?  Should I put gas in my car to get to work or pay my light bill, so it doesn’t get shut off?  Should I pay my rent this month or my childcare bill?  I do this to be the voice of the 55,000 lives United Way impacted last year!”  Danielle is proud of the collaborative work United Way is doing to bring community partners together to reduce and prevent poverty on a scale no one can accomplish alone in the areas of health, education, and financial stability.
