Become a Champion

Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) is headed in a new direction that will provide the institution with stability, success and a future that burns bright so that ECSU continues to promote educational, economic, social, and environmental progress for the citizens of Elizabeth City, northeastern North Carolina, the state, and the nation. With your support during this transitional period to strengthen the University, together, we will ensure that ECSU is a leading regional partner in offering world-class teaching, learning, research, and service for many years to come.

To assist ECSU in serving its mission, we would like to join forces with you as we host our 2nd ECSU Day of Giving (#ECSUGives) on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Our goal is to raise $150,000 from more than 1,500 donors. I am asking all Vikings and friends to come together for One Day. One Goal. One ECSU. We will ensure that ECSU students receive the vital resources they need to succeed while supporting the northeastern North Carolina community.

We have several exciting initiatives that you may support including the ECSU National Alumni Association Student Support Initiative, which seeks to raise $10 million for student scholarships over the next five years. You may also support other funds that are noted in this brochure, including the ECSU Fund that provides desperately needed unrestricted dollars that can be used to close the gap for students, the ECSU Student Development Fund that will help to fund new socially responsible initiatives for our students, and the North Eastern North Carolina Fund that will help the university make strategic investments in the community.

Additionally, you can donate to an established scholarship, academic programs, student organizations, and any other part of ECSU that you would like to see strengthened. We also have several challenges that will surely ignite the spirit of competition among our community.

Together, we can achieve our goal of a stronger ECSU—one donor at a time!

As a constituent institution of The University of North Carolina, Elizabeth City State University offers baccalaureate, professional, and master's degrees for a diverse student body. Our mission is to promote economic, social, and environmental progress for the people of northeastern North Carolina, the state, and the nation.

We achieve our commitment to the highest quality education by maintaining a rigorous focus on academic excellence through liberal arts programs and using innovative and flexible technology-based instruction models to enhance our signature areas: integrating technology with education, improving human health and wellness, and advancing the natural and aviation sciences.

Through teaching, research, and community engagement, the institution's rich heritage and its current multicultural student-centered focus provide a firm foundation for its endeavors.
