As the summer months are upon us, we are seeing a higher need to feed children who are no longer sustained with the two meals a day they receive from our community schools. Coupled with rising temperatures, the demand to provide additional meals to support hydration as well as a cooling environment has significantly increased. We hold on to the belief that while we may not be able to help everyone, we will support as many individuals as we can.  We have a “no questions asked” policy which has resulted in our serving of more than 70 meals per day to individuals and families.

Our mission is simple: to feed people in need regardless of their circumstances.  We are committed to improving the quality of life and restoring the dignity of those we serve when providing a meal to any member of our community in need of one.

Our vision is to assure that no one goes hungry, that no food is wasted in our community and no one is denied the opportunity or assistance to become self-sufficient.  Serving those with food insecurity is a yearlong commitment for The Salvation Army of Johnson County’s Soup Kitchen and you can play an important role by becoming a donor. Many people rely on The Soup Kitchen for nutritional meals to overcome whatever crisis they may be experiencing. Our support enables them to begin their journey towards recovery and rebuilding their lives. Your contribution provides that hope and makes our services possible.
