The Salvation Army's presence in the Greater Valley began in 1891 and continues to this day. Individuals and families benefit from the comprehensive Emergency Assistance Program, which includes but is not limited to its Client Choice Food Pantry, financial assistance, educational workshops, and community meals. The food pantry is open two days each week, while a Bread and Pastry Program is operated one day each week, on a first come, first serve basis. Through its Community Meals program, educational workshops, and Small Group Ministry Program, the Corps also provides fellowship and service opportunities, thereby addressing not only immediate crises, but strengthening life skills. Assistance is also provided during the holiday season, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, such as food, toys, holiday gifts, nursing home visitations, and more.
