Quakertown Rotary Presents the 19th Annual (and 1st Virtual)
Habitat for Humanity 5K Race
November 14-28, 2020
With the uncertainty of COVID-19, we’ve decided to go virtual for 2020. We know you will miss the smiling volunteers, fabulous post-race grub, and generous awards. But fear not! We plan to be back better than ever for our 20th running on Saturday November 27, 2021!
LOCATION: You pick the route. You can even run the actual course. Here is the Route Map. The course will NOT be marked and you are on your own to not get lost. Run anytime between November 14 through November 28, which includes the Thanksgiving Holiday. Please do not run the regular race route past Quakertown United Methodist Church during service times.
RESULTS: Record your race results and email them to [email protected] by 8PM on November 28 to be included. Feel free to post pictures and let us know if you ran the “real” course. Times will be posted on the website and at www.quakertownrotary.org. We are walker-friendly so run, walk, skip or dance your way to 3.1 miles.
WHY: Why not? This race supports Habitat for Humanity of Buck County’s mission to build affordable housing and make home repairs affordable in our county. 1 in 5 families in Bucks County are paying 30-50% of their monthly income on rent with homeownership increasingly out of reach. Celebrating 30 years of impact this year, Habitat Bucks has helped over 120 families achieve the financial security and peace of mind that comes from owning their own home. To learn more about Habitat’s work in Bucks County, visit www.habitatbucks.org.
The Quakertown Rotary Club has been fulfilling Rotary’s motto of “Service Before Self” since 1924. The women and men in the club do hands-on service projects and fundraising to address community needs. As part of Rotary’s global network, Quakertown Rotarians support global projects such as Polio Eradication and ShelterBox disaster relief. Visit us at www.uakertownrotary.org to learn more about us and what we do.
ENTRY: $12 by 11/26. Add $10 to receive a mailed shirt after the race. You must register by November 14 to receive a shirt. All registrations will be online at https://app.mobilecause.com/vf/HfHBucks5K.
AWARDS & SHIRTS: No awards will be given this year as participants will run courses of varying difficulty. Quality long-sleeved shirts with the iconic running hammer logo are available for purchase. Available sizes are: Youth Large, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large.
