From 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 19 until Sunday night, July 21, at 11:59 p.m., tune in to 88.1 FM Anchorage for KRUA’s pledge drive to #saveKRUA. With your support, KRUA can continue broadcasting into this uncertain future and even upgrade our broadcast antenna, allowing for better reception in the Anchorage area!
KRUA has relied on student fees and local sponsorship to operate a station that gives student and community volunteers the opportunity to learn public media skills through broadcasting. This experience expands to more than 40 current volunteer broadcasters, the Journalism and Public Communication Department at UAA, and the Anchorage community at large.
Now a new horizon is before us: the antenna that transmits the signal for KRUA is being upgraded and raised to a new, more ideal location. This new transmitter and placement will improve the signal strength, range, and power of the KRUA radio signal in the Anchorage area. This is the first time an opportunity to improve the KRUA signal has ever come about and it may very well be the final chance we ever have to remedy our signal interference. More than ever, we need your help. Anything you can contribute will make a difference.
