The Loughlin Connects Campaign is our ambitious campaign to secure an iPad for every student in the coming weeks. We ask for your support! Every alum from Loughlin, Bishop's and Augustine can make an impact. In fact, anyone can be a part of our campaign.
The pandemic has altered the educational landscape. Although we are furiously preparing for partial in-person learning at Loughlin, we acknowledge that providing a great online learning experience will be vital in 2020-2021.
Loughlin educators and families did a very good job adapting to distance learning in the spring. One thing we learned is that the digital playing field is not level for our students. Many students share a device at home while others use an older device. A wide range of smart phones, desktops, tablets and other devices with varying capabilities are being used for assignments and class participation. While some students have no device at all.
We felt strongly that the last thing a parent needs during this pandemic is a significant technology fee. While considering the limited options a few weeks ago, an anonymous Loughlin alum stepped forward to support an iPad purchase for 300 students (half of the total needed). We also found a willing partner in Apple to provide us the best package possible for students.
Thanks to this generous individual and our Apple partnership, we know that we can make this happen for our families and ask – “will you help us put an iPad in the hands of every Loughlin student this year?"
We will recognize your support by placing a "sponsor tag" on each device with your name or initials and class year (of course, you may wish to remain anonymous). Your gift will also be recognized in our annual report and in other ways. More importantly, students will have their iPad sponsor" in prayer and thought on a regular basis.
Thank you for your consideration.
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
