Spokane Mardi Bras was created in 2017 to raise awareness of and empathy for the hardships that women experiencing poverty and homelessness go through.  Imagine not being able to afford a bra that fits or tampons when you need them!  The community's response: donate nearly $4,000, 18,000 tampons, 1,350 bras, and 1,800 pairs of underwear (2018).

Our organizations:
Transitions' Women's Hearth and VOA's Hope House work together on a regular basis to get women off the streets and into a safe place of community. Both programs meet women where they're at in their lives and offer a place to rest, food to eat, hygiene supplies to take, and much more. Women's Hearth operates during the day Monday through Friday; Hope House operates at night 7 days a week.
