Pets United involves using the power of pets (and their cuteness!) for a good cause. Pet registration requires a $20 donation and votes are $1 each. Donations help fund local nonprofit programs.

    • Your gift helps fund more than 100 vital nonprofit programs across the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro that provide Basic Needs, Education and Financial Stability supports for local families and individuals. Together, these areas help form a circle of support around people when they need it most.
    • We strive to use donor dollars responsibly and create the most impact. When you make a gift, 93 cents of every dollar you give goes back into local nonprofit programs.

About United Way of the Midlands

United Way of the Midlands (UWM) has been committed to bringing together community partners to help those in need for 97 years, whether we’re helping them through everyday struggles, recessions, natural disasters or the current pandemic.

Before COVID-19 there were more 100,000 people living in poverty here in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro. Now, the pandemic has created an entirely new demographic – the newly in need. Over the past year, we’ve also been engaging in some very challenging but necessary conversations about disparities in our community. And as we look at the many impacts of COVID-19, we have seen these disparities continue.

    • 38% of metro households reported someone having a loss in employment income since March. (Census Pulse Poll)
    • More than 20% of residents in NE and IA have missed a housing payment or are not confident they will make next month's payment due to financial strain from the pandemic. (Census Pulse Poll)
    • 1 in 5 children across Nebraska and Iowa are living in food-insecure households, unsure where their next meal will come from.
    • Students are expected to lose an average of 7 months of learning due to COVID-19's disruption on education. (McKinsey)

Your support is needed more than ever. Please consider helping make our community stronger, today!

*Please note, your gift supports local human services organizations, which you can view here. Your gift does not support animal services organizations.
