As the Key Training Center continues to respond to the rapidly-changing COVID-19 situation, we have made the decision to be on the right side of this pandemic, and transition our beloved summer events into virtual events this year. The 38th Annual Reach for the Stars, the 44th Annual Run for the Money, and the 11th Annual Walk a Mile in my Shoes events will take on a new face this year, and we are asking for our community to be involved with us. This transition into a virtual fundraising field will enable our supporters to stay engaged while remaining safe and healthy. We are even more excited to include our clients, families, staff and supporters on this new venture and look forward to having our communities support!
We have been blessed with our community support for our Run for the Money events for the last 44 years! We want to bring awareness to why this event is put on, and the impact that it has on our organization. The first RFTM event was put on by our Executive President Mr. Cole, he wanted a way to demonstrate how difficult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities struggle in their everyday life. Something as simple as learning to tie shoes can take years to master and demonstrates self-determination. He chose to run 180 miles from Tallahassee to our Lecanto location and that gave him time to reflect on the people we serve and the battles they face each day. His hope? To bring awareness and inclusion for them. Typically, our events take place in July- but this year we are starting the fun a little early.
We are beginning our Pre-Registration on May 30th, and will continue until June 24th. During this time, you will receive a Key Center Recipe Book, and a customized water bottle coozie for joining our efforts early!
Our Run for the Money goes LIVE on June 24th-July 24th! During this time, we ask that you can give us as many miles as possible to lead up to our team effort of 180 miles and beyond!
Once you register, we are asking for you to ask for donations from your friends, family, social media followers, etc. The more money you raise, the more incentives you receive. We will be having fun items to give away based on how much you raise! If you raise 150$, we will include a Tier One "Goodie Bag", if you raise 250$, we will include a Tier Two "Goodie Bag". We won't stop there, though. We will be picking winners at random to receive even more fun prizes. Not including the "Most Fund raised Amount" and the "Most Spirited".
Join our cause today! We'll email you shortly with exciting things!
