Raymond E. Hartfield was a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend to those who knew him. He served 14 years on the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees, six as President, during a time of unprecedented district growth. Raymond led efforts to bring Austin Community College to Williamson County, and was instrumental in bringing other higher learning institutions to Round Rock as well. His wit and storytelling abilities were legendary. The Raymond E. Hartfield Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students involved in music, including band, orchestra, and/or choir.
