COVID-19 has affected millions around the world, and BBYO teens everywhere are mobilizing to take action through the Standing UP for Upstanders Task Force. While we are physically apart, we will still come together and support those who have been affected both directly and indirectly by this disease -- from patients to family members to those living in isolation to frontline healthcare workers. We provide resources for teens to participate in service projects, and are rallying teens to raise funds for organizations working on the frontlines of the pandemic.
Join BBYO teens from across the Movement as we mobilize to support the people and communities hit hardest by COVID-19. Our task force will be raising money for AZA & BBG’s International Service Fund – which will in turn support Direct Relief, the NAACP, and scholarships for families financially impacted by COVID. Want to learn more about the organizations you’ll be supporting?
- The International Service Fund is AZA's and BBG's treasury that allows our members to be engaged in the affairs of the global Jewish community. It provides scholarships for Jewish teens to attend immersive experiences, serves as the pool of money from which BBYO makes donations to charities, and allows us to support communities in times of need.
- Direct Relief is an organization that works to get Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and critical care medications to frontline health workers, and also coordinates emergency delivery services daily to frontline workers.
- The NAACP works to secure the equality of rights and to eliminate race-based discrimination. During COVID, they are enacting policies and providing resources to help communities of color navigate the effects of the pandemic.
