The Boys and Girls Club works to empower Frederick County's youth by providing afterschool programs and activities. The Club aims to help all young people, no matter their character, race, religion, or financial background. They work to make sure that everyone has a place to belong and to grow.

Today, more than 5,600 young people are at risk and in need of taking advantage of the programs, activities and services provided by BGCFC. Our vision is to provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who comes through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle. To make sure that all of our members have great futures, BGCFC has adopted the Formula for Impact, a research-based theory of change. Our Formula begins with the young people in BGCFC – especially those who need us most. It calls for us to consistently provide the most powerful Club Experience possible – by implementing the Five Key Elements for Positive Youth Development, offering high-yield activities and providing targeted programs – all of which help youth achieve priority outcomes. BGCFC programs engage Members through out-come based programs: POWER Hour, SMARTGirls, Passport to Manhood, Triple Play, and Money Matters. Additionally, Members participate in creative arts, music and sports programs.

BGCFC is committed to strengthening our local community. In January 2019, we will move into our new facility at Lincoln A. This new facility will nearly quadruple our capacity to 200 Members with easy access to Lincoln Elementary School and Carver & Lincoln Housing Communities.

The Unity campaign will help us do this. Unity 2018 donations will be used to continue to provide direct support to the elementary program and provide scholarships to Club Members in the 2018-2019 academic year. No family is ever turned away for the inability to pay.

About the Unity Campaign
