Our mission at Woman to Woman Mentoring, Inc is to cultivate mentoring relationships that provide women with guidance, support, and community connections. We offer programs that are uniquely geared toward women who are seeking support during a time of growth and change. We strive to cultivate new relationships, develop new skills, and mentor any young woman who wants a mentor in her life. Long after the 6 month program is over the mentoring community remains connected and W2WM has become an excellent resource for our "alumni" in professional and personal networking, in identifying local resources, and in personal support and encouragement.

We believe in the power of mentoring and in the ability of people to build a positive future for themselves. We know that women working together accomplish amazing things and that they create a ripple that moves out far and strong across the community. W2WM combines these two forces to empower women to finally make the changes they may have been thinking about for a long time, to turn wishes into goals. And we've heard from our mentees that it works.

Mentees report that because of W2WM they are more likely to:
Get a new job or move up in their current jobs (81%)
Negotiate their salaries (55%)
Save money (73%)
And 100% of the mentees with academic goals (starting/restarting/persisting in school) report they're more likely to reach those goals because of W2WM.

Many women in the community don't know that a mentoring program exists, FOR FREE, for them, in their own community of Frederick County! Many of our mentees and volunteer mentors hear of us through word of mouth and community referrals, so participation in the Unity Campaign would give us increased visibility to women looking to receive or provide mentorship.

Unity Campaign funds will be used to partially sponsor the next 4 ALICE mentees to participate in our 6 month CORE program.
Direct services will include:
Mentee interview: a 30-60 minute interview to get to know the mentee's interests, hopes, and goals
Mentor match: mentor interviews and matching mentee with a mentor
Orientation packet and workshop supplies
Workshops: a series of 10 workshops over 6 months including Strengths, Personal Devleopment Plans, Money, Relationships, Careers, and more
Participant engagement: support for mentees, mentors, and mentoring pairs as they get to know each other and start working toward the mentee's goals, regular check-ins and follow-up, problem-solving if necessary
Community connecting: introductions to other W2WM participants (mentees and mentors in other cohorts, board members, our large network of supporters) for personal and professional networking, informational interviews, job shadowing, and more; referrals to other local agencies and organizations

Mentoring pairs' work together is focused on mentee personal development. All of the mentoring pairs in a cohort attend workshops where we learn together and learn from each other. Workshops are also a time for community-building and networking.
