Blizzard Blast 2021 Virtual Tough Winter Run

Because of COVID, Blizzard Blast is going "virtual" in 2021. Starting on January 30th, for one week, participants will be challenged to complete a tough 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon course with challenge stops along the way. Instead of obstacles, at each stop runners will be required to compete "individual exercises," including lunges, burpees, squats, pushups, army crawls, jump ropes, etc. Throughout, runners will learn about the many great nonprofits in our community -- because that's where the stops are. Runners are encouraged to post videos and selfies on social media, highlighting not only their progress but also the participating organizations. During this pandemic year the money raised will go to the United Way COVID Response Fund, which is supporting the many needs of our community. Runners "win" by competing the race, posting to social media, and raising funds.

Important event note -- if you prepaid your registration for BB2021 as originally conceived, we will honor your registration and carry it over to BB2022 PLUS we will give you a $25 head start on your BB2021 Virtual Event Fundraising, if you choose to participate. Questions should be directed to Mike at [email protected]

The funds raised through Blizzard Blast Virtual 2021 are more critical than ever before. Money raised supports the United Way COVID Response Fund... which is aiding the community, local nonprofits, and schools with PPE, emergency grants, tutoring supports, and critically needed learning technology. This year, you can run... and make a tremendous difference in our community!

The Blizzard Blast 2021 Virtual Challenge Race is not just another 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon road race. IT IS TOUGH! Why is it more tough than your typical 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon?

The Northern New England winter: this race will be run during the week starting January 30, 2021. During the week, participants can run the course any time they want… but it is rain or shine, blizzard, snow, or hail. In any case… it will be a lot tougher than your typical spring, summer, or fall race.

Course Challenges: there will be numerous stops along the course. Each of these stops is at one of Nashua’s great nonprofits… and at each one you will encounter physical challenges. These could include any or all of the following: ◼   Burpees ◼   Lunges ◼   Pushups ◼   Jumping jacks ◼   Jump rope ◼   Situps ◼   Army crawls ◼   Kettle bells ◼   …and more!

Course Map: We are developing a variety of courses in the 5K / 10K and Half Marathon Lengths (appx.). Runners will check in and start/finish at the United Way, Sponsored by St. Joseph Medical Outreach Mobile Clinic. Along the course you will stop at one or more of the following locations:
