Support SAE Baja at Chico State!
Here at Chico State Baja we get to design, build, market, test and race a 10 Horsepower offroad race buggy in a collegiate design competition. Through the Baja SAE program, students get the opportunity to obtain real world experience in many valuable fields such as engineering, marketing, financing, project management, advertising, etc.
There are three North American competitions annually; each with 100 international teams competing in a four-day competition of static and dynamic events. These competitions require students to balance design and cost with performance, while following a strict set of standardized rules.
Last year we competed at the Washougal, Washington MX Park for the Baja SAE Oregon Competition. At this competition we finished:
Hill climb: 3rd
Dynamic Events: 5th
Rock crawl: 14th
The funds raised will help our team get to competition and build our car. All of our funds come from sponsors and a small amount from our University. We have about 30 members and our club would like to fund all travel expenses for our participating college students. This year our competitions are in Cookeville, TN and Gorman, CA in April and May of 2019.
