Support Voices of Religion in the North State: a three-part lecture series on Sikhs, Hindus, and Muslims in Northern California

We are raising money for a new religious diversity series that will help Chico State students develop as leaders in California. Northern California is very religiously diverse, but different religious communities are often misunderstood, which can lead to conflict or even violence. In this speaker series, we hope to promote better understanding of the different cultures and religious perspectives that make up our region.

These talks by regional scholars and practitioners of Sikhism, Hinduism, and Islam will help dispel stereotypes and deepen understanding of these groups that have deep roots in our state. Future professionals will increasingly be working with these diverse groups, as teachers, health care providers, and leaders in business and civic life.

    Donation Milestones:

    • $25 goes towards a speaker series poster
    • $50 provides print advertising in the Chico News and Review
    • $100 provides a night of lodging for a speaker
    • $200 provides food and beverage for a reception
    • $500 provides speaker’s honorarium
