Help Humanities and Fine Arts majors to Succeed!
We aim to help every humanities and fine arts major complete their degree in a timely manner, and to be successful in their college career. Students need a liaison and a place to go to overcome the inevitable obstacles that arise as they head toward the degree finish line. Whether it's a basic needs issue, an advising concern, or academics--the Humanities and Fine Arts Student Success Center will help students succeed. Their success is our goal.
The Humanities and Fine Arts Student Success Center will offer comprehensive support and advising to our majors who need assistance as they progress towards graduation. This newly established center will provide coaching, resources for achieving academic success, study skills workshops, tutoring resources, and special advising geared towards helping students majoring in humanities and fine art. We aim to help them make informed decisions regarding their academic program and career choices. This is a place within the college where students can find a helping hand, opportunities for development, and tools to apply to their academic management, whether or not they are struggling. It is also a one-stop-shop connected with advising and resources available across the University, providing students and faculty with efficient and integrated services. It will be a welcoming office with comfortable seating area, private room for counseling, and resources for all kinds of needs. Right now it is an empty space that needs a small couch, a small fund for student basic needs (food, books, etc.), bookshelves, computer stations, and kitchen items.
