Support the History Immersion Trip and Overnight History Honor Society Regional Conference!
History should never be limited to the classroom – it’s all around us. Support History students as they participate in immersion trips and conferences that broaden their knowledge and let them experience history beyond the classroom.
The History Club/Phi Alpha Theta (History Honor Society) is planning two trips for spring 2019. The first is a half-day trip to Red Bluff to watch a Civil War re-enactment and our second trip will be to the Regional Conference of Phi Alpha Theta in April at CSU, Sacramento.
Your gift of any amount will help bring history to life for our students.
Case for Giving:
The trip to Red Bluff will provide students with the opportunity to watch one of the best Civil War reenactments on the West Coast and will give them a glimpse into this very unique and very American phenomenon. We estimate the total cost of the trip to be $500.
- $350 provides funds to rent two 12-seater vans, plus gas
- $150 helps to rent one 12-seater van, plus gas
- $30 provides admission for five students
The Regional Conference of the History Honor Society is a great opportunity for our students to interact with and compete against the best History students in Northern California. Last spring, Chico State students won first and second prize in the graduate category, and we’ll be back for more! We estimate the total cost of the trip to be $1,100.
- $350 pays for one 12-seater van
- $175 provides lodging for one student participant
- $30 will help cover meal costs for one student
