Youth Pandemic Barriers: Mental Health & Learning Loss
Every fall the United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region hosts community conversations where community members come together to learn the most important and urgent needs of the community.
On October 21, we hope that you can join us for our next Community Conversation, Youth Pandemic Barriers: Mental Health & Learning Loss. (See program schedule below.)
The keynote speaker is Dr. Wilfred H. Farquharson IV, Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Services at Stony Brook Renaissance School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. View Powerpoint.
He will be joined by panelists: Dhanu Sannesy, President, NAMI Orange County; Elizabeth Rizzi, MA, President, New York State Association of School Psychologists; Lynne Sacks, Ed.D, Research Director, Education Redesign Lab, Harvard University; and Erin McCloskey, PhD, Associate Professor, Vassar College.
The feedback informs our community investment process. In the past, representatives from community organizations, nonprofits, service providers, volunteers and interested community members have attended the conversations. The discussions allow them to share where gaps in the community exist, helping identify the needs United Way can assist with. We invite all community members to participate.
We hope to see you this October!
