Established in 1920, Greater Nashua Mental Health Center (GNMHC) has as its mission: empowering individuals to lead full and satisfying lives through treatment and support.  Our agency provides comprehensive, evidence-based behavioral health services for individuals with mental health and/or substance misuse disorders. As the state designated Community Mental Health Center for Southern Hillsborough County, we serve all who need our services regardless of their ability to pay.  Without our agency, many of the most vulnerable members of our community would not have access to critically needed behavioral health care.

GNMHC is raising funds for our Community Connections Mental Health Court program, a collaborative project with the Hillsborough District Court, local police departments, corrections personnel, consumer advocates, prosecutors and public defenders, which provides an alternative to incarceration by providing intensive recovery-based treatment to address underlying mental health and/or substance misuse concerns, reduce recidivism and promote community safety.  Studies have repeatedly shown that mental health court programs have been extremely effective in breaking the cycle of repeat criminal offenses by addressing the underlying causes that contribute to the negative behaviors.  The program began in 2010 and over the next five years (through 2015), served 1,185 individuals. In addition, to date it has saved the County approximately $2,000,000.  We are raising funds to help offset the amount of uncompensated care that is provided by our agency to help ensure that this important program becomes sustainable.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email [email protected], or call (603) 402-1588.  Thank you!
