Seawolf Giving Day 2019

One Team. One Goal. One Future.

Thank you for participating in the first-ever Seawolf Giving Day!  From 8AM on March 6 until 8PM on March 7, we ask that you stay engaged and help increase support among the entire Seawolf Community – alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and students.

Our Goal:  158 unique gifts - One gift for each Student-Athlete wearing the Green & Gold this year.  Giving Day is a collective opportunity to champion what you care about most, as your gift will be used to fund the essential areas of Degree Completion, Student-Athlete Wellbeing, and Competitive Success.

UAA Student-Athletes pursue excellence, as demonstrated by academic and athletic performances.  45 UAA Student-Athletes earned a 4.0 GPA in the fall semester, and our Student-Athletes earned a cumulative 3.34 Academic Year GPA - the highest ever in school history.  Through its rich history, UAA has 20 NCAA National Champions, 333 All-Americans, and 63 team conference championships.

"We hope that Giving Day will inspire Seawolves to come together and show their pride in UAA,” said Greg Myford, Director of Athletics. “Giving Day will provide essential funding to support current and future Student-Athletes in their daily commitment to achieve academic and athletic excellence.”

Degree Completion

Graduation is the ultimate goal for our student-athletes.  Funding for degree completion helps to fulfill UAA's mission to support student success, providing resources for our student-athletes to reach graduation.  Gifts in support of degree completion will transform Alaska’s workforce by creating a readily employable workforce with career skills that will benefit all industries.

Student-Athlete Wellbeing

Student-athletes face unique challenges and stressors that may affect academic and athletic success.  Resources for health care, nutrition, strength and conditioning, emotional and behavioral support help to create an environment that supports the well-being and overall peak performance of our student-athletes.  UAA student-athletes, as healthy community members, make a positive impact on our community and contribute to a Healthy and Vibrant Alaska.

Competitive Success

In order to build championship teams, UAA Athletics must have the best facilities, equipment, coaching staff, leadership programs, training opportunities, and additional support resources.  Through competitive success, UAA Athletics will continue to engage and bring the community together through athletic programs and entertainment, helping to enrich the lives of Alaskans. Competitive Success will help us to achieve UAA’s goal of “Making Anchorage a new kind of College Town.”
