Life can change in a heartbeat. My family is proof of that. An accident left my brother as a quadriplegic; my brother-in-law didn’t make it home from Afghanistan; my youngest brother died of esophageal cancer and my grandfather passed away from a heart attack. We don’t know what tomorrow brings, but I want to make sure I’m there for my family. And that means giving them the best, healthiest version of myself.
Not only does that mean more years to my life, but more life in those years. And I know the American Heart Association will be there to help. I see their work in our schools, boardrooms and communities. While we’ve witnessed major medical and scientific advances, every 40 seconds someone succumbs to heart disease and stroke. That is not right and stops on my watch! This is why I’m proud to be chairing the 2020 Heart & Stroke Ball. I humbly ask you to support my efforts with a donation so we can change health outcomes, and help more people add more years to their life and life in those years.
Walking my daughter down the aisle is WHY. Seeing my son get his diploma is WHY. Celebrating my next wedding anniversary is WHY. What’s your WHY?
