Theatre Program

For many years, Theatre at Ferris State University has been an opportunity for students from many programs to come together and create memorable performances. Participating in these plays helps students develop communication skills, gives them experience in group projects and management, and is an opportunity to work with peers outside of their programs. It helps students strengthen the skills and confidence they will need in their future endeavors. It also builds lifetime friendships. Every year, approximately 200-300 students are directly involved in all aspects of our productions. We are proud of all of the shows that we have managed to create over the years. Many outstanding Theatre alums have succeeded in their variety of jobs including computer programming and design and as state troopers, nurses, doctors, professors, teachers and more. Help ensure that current and future FSU students continue to have the incredible experience of theatre production. On this One Day for Dawgs, consider making a gift to FSU Theatre. Your gift to the FSU Theatre Program will allow us to supplement our budget thereby allowing us to have better sets and costumes, be able to invite professional guest artists, and support student field trips in the entertainment industry. Thank you for joining Bulldogs everywhere in supporting Ferris State University on One Day for Dawgs. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity on this day of giving. Go Bulldogs!

Latin@ Alumni Association

The Ferris State University Latin@ Alumni Association (FSULAA) was established in 2022 by a group of Ferris graduates to help bring current Latino students and alumni together to connect at networking and mentoring opportunities. Many Latinos are first-generation college students and navigate the challenges of their higher education and careers on their own. To address this gap, FSULAA brings students mentorship programs which aim to provide guidance for personal and professional development. To ensure student success, the FSULAA fulfills undergraduates' needs and provides resources such as creating a LinkedIn account, resume-building, interviewing-skills and more. The FSULAA is proud of the great work accomplished so far and we acknowledge that there are other opportunities to serve our Latino students. For this, we are working hard in fundraising efforts. Your gifts and contributions for the One Day for Dawgs are critical to the continued success of the Latino Bulldog Community. Your gift, whatever the amount, will have an immediate impact on the programming and events, but most importantly, on the students. Help us make a difference today for Latin@ Bulldog students at Ferris State by supporting One Day for Dawgs! ¡Muchas Gracias! Student Testimonials: "The Latino Alumni Association has provided us with an opportunity to maintain connections with our alumni as undergraduate students. Additionally, they have provided cultural awareness and networking opportunities to undergraduate, graduate, and alumni of Ferris State University. Through this, we have been able to grow and continue to make a positive impact on and off campus. Due to the connections we developed through them, we have become who we are today." - Lesly Rincon-Escobedo (2024 United Greek Council, President) "Working with Ferris State Latin@ Alumni Association has been truly a blessing for undergraduate organizations. It is so inspiring to see so many individuals who have embarked on the journey of working toward higher education. They have recently worked with the United Greek Council in creating a LinkedIn/Networking Workshop. Additionally, they had members from different fields come and discuss career options and the benefits of networking specific to the students given field of study. It is events like these in which they help students get connected with not only members of FSULAA, but other potential employers are looking to guide the next generation of successful Bulldogs." - Analicia Lara - (2023 United Greek Council, President)

Thank you for your generous support for the Plastics Engineering Technology program at Ferris State University. Our program is dedicated to providing students and faculty with invaluable opportunities for hands-on learning and professional development. Funds raised through this campaign will be used to fund student and faculty travel for field trips and plastics industry conferences. These experiences are essential for our students to gain real-world insights, network with industry professionals, and stay updated on the latest advancements in the industry. Funds from last year's campaign were used for three trips to Novi, Grand Rapids, and Newaygo, MI. Because of the donations, students did not have to pay anything out of pocket for these experiences. Go to Education Counseling and Disabilities Services Scholarship Endowment

Education Counseling and Disabilities Services Scholarship Endowment

Nearly 20% of college students report having a disability, but many do not go on to complete their degrees due to institutional barriers, including financial barriers. 25% of college students with disabilities leave college after one year compared to 14% of those without disabilities. Students with disabilities can choose to take a reduced course load, but that often means reduced financial and fewer scholarship opportunities. The longer time to degree also means more college debt and lost wages. By supporting this scholarship, you are helping to decrease these barriers. Thank you for supporting this fundraising effort. Student Message: My Name is Nicole O’Brien. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Ferris State University. I also work for Educational Counseling & Disability Services at Ferris. I am writing to you in hopes you will consider supporting a disability scholarship at Ferris State University. Please take a second to imagine someone with a disability saying to you, “Our society is not made for me.” Their shoulders slumped. A dejected look on their face. What would you think. How would you respond. This is a reality that nearly 20% of all college students in America must live with every day, including myself. I was born with Cerebral Palsy (CP). My CP is such that I cannot feed myself, dress myself, open doors, or get a Kleenex box if need be. I am reliant upon personal care with nearly all activities of daily living. To graduate from college, students with disabilities must endure added expenses in areas such as personal care assistants, transportation, and technology. When their families cannot help, disparities loom even larger. Many students like myself must dedicate a considerable amount of time to simple tasks like getting out of bed, getting dressed and going to the bathroom; making it difficult to maintain a full-time class schedule. By supporting a disability scholarship, you are investing in the independence and inclusion of all students with disabilities at Ferris State University and helping to further their personal and professional development. This scholarship would help relieve many of the added costs and stress associated with an education for students with disabilities in a tangible and practical way. Thank You, Nicole O’Brien
